Bulletstorm is all about being a badass...

Bulletstorm didn't have a big impact for me when i first saw it but as we get closer to the release date of Epic Games fresh new First Person Shooter, i grew curious. The only thing that caught my eye when i first heard about it in E3 2010 is that Cliff bleszinski(Gears of War Franchise, Unreal Franchise)was working on Bulletstorm. I thought, "cool another FPS Title", then forgot about it the whole year. Now where at 2011 and i've been seeing developer diary's of the game and it seems worth checking out.

Bulletstorm is all about how much of a Badass you can be in this game. This isn't your typical First Person Shooter we see nowadays, actually i get the Doom vibe which i miss a lot. It seems to be all about having fun with your enemies.

they want you to get creative on how you kill your enemies, and they reward you for it with their skill shot system they have going. Their weapons look pretty awesome that gives you hilarious ways to kill people. The more unique kills you do in this game, the better the points, and that sounds fun to me.

It feels like its bringing something fresh for the First Person Shooter genre with all the Call of Duty Medal of Honor games we see all around but i guess its too early to tell how well this game will do. I completely disregarded this game back in 2010 but i'm definitely eager to try it out for myself. I honestly want to try out new IP games cause we have too many sequels nowadays. New is good and its always welcome. Bulletstorm is going for the over the top Badass Game with their Brutality, foul language and etc so we'll see how well it does for them when released.

There's a demo coming up on Xbox Live on Jan 25 and on Playstation Network on Jan 26 and Can't wait for that. If your a First Person Shooter kind of guy, give this game a try and you might like what you see. Oh and by the way, this game has a four barrel shotgun. FOUR! Can't wait to shoot that shit on point blank.

Bulletstorm will be released on February 22, 2011 on the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Impressions: Dead Space 2 demo

PSN was updated with loads of new stuff for christmas and one of them was the Demo of Dead Space 2. I quickly downloaded it to see what the sequel has in store for us when it hits Jan 25 next year.

If you watched the latest gameplay footage of Dead Space 2 and their demo feeds, thats exactly what your getting in this demo. The Demo starts off with a recap of the events of the first Dead Space giving a brief history of the game's story and about the main Protagonist Isaac Clark. Dead Space 2 is set 3 years after the events of the first game and has Isaac Clark waking up in this inhabited moon with necromorphs everywhere. Again he has to survive.

I've seen this demo already in E3 but playing it hands-on gives a better impression than watching someone play it of course. When you get control of Isaac Clark for the first time, everything feels familiar. I grasp the controls of the game quickly and started exploring this narrow area surrounded with containers on the walls. You are given 4 weapons to play around with. the 3 weapons were known since they were in the first game. The famous plasma cutter, the plasma rifle(which btw has a nood tube alternate fire now, better than that crap alt in the first game ) and the line cutter. The fourth one though was some sort of weapon that shoots nails. It's pretty trippy since it can stick Necromorphs to walls and you can dismember them slowly as they struggle to get free.

During the course of the demo you are introduced with new enemies. Aside from the normal necromorphs shown at the start of the demo you get enemies that can slow you down and spit green stuff that hurts. Another new necromorph is this tripod-ish thing that in the middle of the demo grabs hold of your leg and just like the first game you must shoot his obvious shiny "weak spot" before he drags you somewhere. Another new necromorh introduced were these necromorph babies with fingers as claws. Freaky stuff. I hated the baby shooters in the first one, now they have these group of fast freak babies running straight at you.

There was a small easy puzzle involving you to hack a terminal(very easy mini game to hack through) then using your stasis to fix this device. You get introduced to the new feature which has you have free control of Isaac in zero gravity which is a good improvement. The demo was roughly 20 mins long and it ends with a huge necromorph appearing in front of isaac.

I enjoyed the demo and I liked the fact that everything felt familiar. The best part of Dead Space 2 for me was the fact that Isaac Clark can talk. I hated the fact that I was controlling a character that doesn't say anything. That's what lacked in the first game, the ability to see the personality of Isaac evolve as he progress and experience the horror. Giving voice to main characters can go a long way in improving the story, especially a horror game.

Sadly, though I may have enjoyed the demo and liked the new improvements just like the first game, it doesn't feel like a game to get on day one of release. With all the games coming out early next year, I can't grab all the new games and have been deciding which game to skip. This demo has made my decision. I think I'll be experiencing Dead Space 2 a few months after release.

88 MPH

This is our first look at Telltale's upcoming Back to the Future series of adventure games. If you've seen and enjoyed any of the three films, you'll get a kick outta this.

It's gonna be available on PSN, PC and iPad with a 5 episode release take place 6 months after the events of the third film. The stylistic cartoony look appeals to me and we got Christopher Lloyd reprising his role as Doc Brown.

But the main reason you should all watch the video is for the guy doing the voice for our main man Marty McFly. You'd be convinced that it's Michael J. Fox doing the voice but as you all know, he can't do that anymore. No, it's some kid name A.J. Locascio, and after all this, he will be known as the "guy who sounds just like Michael J. Fox".

Battlefield Bad: Company 2 News and Updates..

Bad Company 2's Vietnam expansion has finally got it's release date. It took them long enough to bring out a release date for us but it has finally arrived. The Vietnam expansion will be released on December 21 on consoles( December 22 on European PSN) and on the 18th for PC. So excited for this, Bad Company 2 is still a great game and i can't wait to walk in the jungles of Vietnam with my fellow squad mates and wreck havoc. But this isn't the only new that just came out for Battlefield Bad Company 2. If Vietnam isn't your thing, your gonna love this.

VIP Map Pack 7 is out! it was released yesterday, December 1. i didn't know myself and was excited when i saw the trailer. Grab your copy out of your shelves because we now have a Map Pack with 4 new maps to play in. It won't be like the other map packs that are pretty much the same map for different modes. We will be getting 2 fresh maps straight out of the Single Player campaign, Cold War and Heavy Metal. The other 2 will be maps that was famous in Bad Company 1, Harvest Day and Oasis. Aside from the new maps, the new patch for the game was released at the same time. Updates seem to address a lot of issues and exploits and adding some cool stuff like finally getting a red dot attachment for G3 and MK -14. This week is the perfect time to revisit Bad Company 2 if your all stuck grabbing your Prestige in Black Ops. I'm currently patching my game now to try out the new maps. Trailer for Map Pack 7, Vietnam game play demo and Patch notes below.

- Reduced the reload time for Vehicle Countermeasures.

- Slightly increased the AT4′s damage vs armor to emphasize its anti vehicle role while keeping it balanced vs armor.

Black Ops Tomahawk FTW!

I had to post this. In Modern Warfare 2 you see tons of videos showing crazy knife throwing kills. Well that's all behind us now. In Black Ops, instead of a Throwing knife, we have the Tomahawk to embarrass our foes. Above is a crazy Tomahawk kill that will blow your mind. Thank you for the players who randomly throw their Tomahawks in hopes to see something awesome happen. Keep it coming!

Rumors:Eder Scrolls V in development, no official word yet...

Bethesda Games Studio is finally in works on a direct-sequel to the famous Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The last game, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was released in xbox 360 and PC in 2006 and was released on the PS3 a year later. No official word from Bethesda or any footage of the game but one thing is for sure, it's in development. Rumors say that in a few weeks they will work with voice actors for their characters.

It's been too long since the last Elder Scrolls and i can't wait what Bethesda has in store for us. If they introduce us with a new engine to run the Elder Scrolls world with less bugs ill be sold. They have been running on the same engine for quite awhile, tweaking it and using it in their Fallout Games. Again no official word from the developers but good to know its being worked on.

Impressions: Medal of Honor didin't impress me...

I recently rented Medal of Honor and played it on the weekend and i'm grateful that i went for the rent rather than getting my own. It seems like Medal of Honor won't be a threat against Call of Duty: Black Ops at all.

Now my earlier post on Medal of Honor, i said i was only interested in the Single Player and that didn't even impress me. It had it's moments but wasn't that engaging for me. You play as different characters with different missions all happening in a span of 2 days. AI are the dumbest I've seen in an FPS, and you can literally feel the game being linear. Now yes most FPS are linear experiences but when i mean u feel it, you actually do. There's invisible walls preventing you from going one way or jumping on a rock. There are times were i was planning to flank my enemies but only to find an invisible wall telling me no. It's easier to hide places to prevent players from heading there with debris or actual walls but in this game they just dump a hidden wall in front of you. Didn't have much thought on my game plan, just go on cover, point and shoot.

Now there was a lot of variety in the Single Player gameplay adding stealth, helicopters, and long range sniping but it all ended in a flash. Yes its a very short experience that left me with nothing in the end. While the story felt engaging , overall i wasn't that impressed. With all the hype i was expecting more, so i looked for satisfaction in multiplayer. Found it but not enough for me to get my own copy.

Multiplayer was fun but it gave me Deja vu and again i expected more. I invested 4 hours in multi player at the moment and didn't feel the urge to keep going. This is Electronic Arts take on keeping up with the Call of Duty franchise of Activision and With Black Ops on the way, they need Medal of Honor to work and compete against it. Sadly i don't think Medal of Honor will be able to do well when Black Ops comes out. I'm not saying Black Ops is  better than Medal of Honor. It's just from what i experience in Medal of Honor, they didin't set the bar high enough.

With this being a disappointment for me, i'm interested on what Black Ops has to offer all of a sudden. This may sound like a review but it isn't a full review on the game since i didn't go into detail about other aspects of the game. Will try to dig in deeper to get a full game review about the game but we'll see if i have the time or will to play Medal of Honor.

Playing Fallout: New Vegas, 18 hours in...

I usually finish games quickly, especially RPG's but Bethesda is the only company that makes me just hold back and just enjoy every bit the game has to offer. I'm 18 hours into my first playthrough, playing Hardcore mode, currently Level 8 and has not set foot on the New Vegas strip. Yes it's that long of a game and loving every second of it. You guys may already know, reviews state that this game is inexcusably buggy and it's true. Enemy AI occassionally being dumb standing still as i shoot it, floating dogs, game crashes(currently at crash number 3), and constant screen tears. It's funny that you'd think a 2 year old engine would be fine tuned by now but no, Bethesda always brings the best buggy games. A patch came to PC versions and will soon come to consoles so just bear with it for a few more days, i know i am.

It will take awhile until i finish this game and make a full review as i see myself committing to at least close to 100 hours into this game but it's safe to say that regardless of its funny bugs and issues it's a game worth picking up, be it the console version or the pc version. I'm playing New Vegas in my PS3 because for some reason in the Philippines the PS3 version came out ahead of the others. It took me time to get used to it since i usually play Bethesda games in my PC. I'm just keeping an open mind and experience a game like this in a console and it's just as great as the PC version. Here's the Trailer if for some reason you don't know what Fallout: New Vegas is.

Diablo 3 final Class Revealed!

Blizzcon 2010 has arrived and started the show with a good announcement.Blizzard Entertainment has revealed their last class for Diablo 3, The Demon Hunter. Why this character as their final class? Lead designer jay Wilson explained "We needed a ranged attacker, and she definitely fills out our arechtypes. We wanted a dark character that was almost an obsessed anti-hero." a interesting addition to Diablo III, crossbows finally getting some attention as Demon Hunters are the only class to dual wield them. Now Blizzard how about that release date??

Pixel Perfect Platforming... With Meat

Old school platformers that required pixel perfect jumps, precise timing and being extremely difficult is an existing formula that's been around since the old arcade games but with games now, most of them hold your hand or are just vastly different and complicated. Super Meat Boy goes back to the early roots of gaming like your Super Marios or old school Castlevanias but I guess the most current game that you can best compare Super Meat Boy to is N+ which is a platformer that almost everything can hurt you and one touch sends your character's body parts hurling every which way.

Super Meat Boy may sound simple, run, jump, avoid things, reach the goal. However, most people can underestimate such simplicity. I can ramble on about how side scrolling platforms are still awesome blah blah blah, just watch the video to see what I mean and how awesome this game is.

Meat Boy is originally a flash game so that brings in the argument of "why will I buy a game if I can play it for free?". You see at 1:31 all those little Meat Boys running, jumping and dying? That's a replay function that takes all your attempts at the level and plays them all at the same time, so you can a dozen to a hundred Meat Boys jumping on screen after every level and that for me is very cool, like a prize for all your hard work on a stage that makes your blood pressure rise.

Super Meat Boy is already out on Xbox Live Arcade and will be coming soon to WiiWare and Steam for the PC. I find it strange that they didn't shell out a Playstation Network release. If you have a Wii, an Xbox 360 or a PC, you have to play this game.

If you want to play the original flash Meat Boy, check it out here:

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Trailer

Everybody still into World of Warcraft will get a kick out of this, Blizzard recently released the cinematic trailer for their new expansion Cataclysm and it looked great, the dev team responsible for this trailer has outdone themselves. The expansion focuses on Deathwing's revenge, hidden away in a secluded sanctuary, the corrupted Dragon Aspect Deathwing has waited, recovering from the wounds of his last battle against Azeroth, waiting for the right time to show himself again. i guess the time is now and he looks pissed.

This expansion is bringing huge changes to World of Warcraft, and these changes are what they need if they want to stay on top. I've played World of Warcraft for 2 years, stopped 5 months into the Lich King expansion. Because of it taking so much of my time, i quit, just like that and never got back into online gaming since. I still remember how awesome it felt killing Illidan for the first time with my guild, geeks screaming at each other's ear with excitement, it was weird but felt so rewarding at the time. It's a great game and was fun till the end but will i go back to World of Warcraft?? nah, that ship has sailed, it's time to move on. Will i still play mmo's? yes, if i find one interesting enough though.

Here's a link from the official website giving you information about the new changes: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/cataclysm/features/

Blizzcon 2010 on Oct 22 - 23

Why is this important?? well every gamer knows blizzard so far brings out great games and they haven't slowed down since the release of their very first title, and blizzcon will give us a big announcement to what their gonna do next. What could they announce?? well here's a few things that could happen from blizzcon this year:

Diablo III 5th class reveal and/or possible release date

Everybody wants this game, don't deny it, having a release date reveal for this game has a slim chance of happening but you can't help but hope. Revealing more gameplay footage and revealing their last class has a better chance of showing up but honestly i'd take any news about this game.

StarCraft 2: Heart of the swarm(first expansion)

As you guys already know, Starcraft 2 will have 2 expansions. first being Heart of Swarm were we get to play the Zerg campaign, Legacy of the Void to play the Protoss campaign. Now i'm hoping they reveal something about the first expansion and how they will make the Zerg campaign work, the Terran campaign in Wings of Liberty was great with the unit upgrades and you being about to explore the ship and choose your missions, will the Zerg campaign be similar or are they going another route to show us the Zerg campaign??

Unannounced new game for blizzard

Yes their getting out of their shell and making something new hoping this title can be as successful as their last franchises. No solid news yet on what this is, a MMO?, First Person Shooter?, RPG?, a racing game?? who knows, let's hope it isn't a racing game though. But i won't be surprised if they make another World of Warcraft-ish game though since they make so much money out of it. If it's a fresh new game that i can enjoy for X number of years just like the rest then i'm sold. They announced last year that they were creating a new title, no other news after that.

More information for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm

Another expansion for this massive online game, but hey the changes so far seem worth the buy. an overhaul of the old continents, a change in stats, 2 new races, more instances to spend the whole night conquering, and a lot more. Lets face it, World of Warcraft is getting old, and this expansion with it's huge changes is what the game needs to keep it on top.World of Warcraft : cataclysm will be released on Dec 7, 2010

One of these announcements might show up, maybe not but one thing is for sure, expect a big announcement from blizzard because they like to skip events like E3 and other gaming events and use their own events to reveal big stuff for their games.

TESTING my blog and a little bit of news...

Hopefully you'll enjoy whatever posts ill be placing here. This is all about gaming so don't expect anything else. Right now i'm going through Dead Rising 2 on my PS3 and enjoying the hell out of it. Will have a review on the game when i've happily killed X zombies.

Fallout New Vegas finished

Apparently Fallout: New Vegas just got golden , which means they have finally finished the game and made a master disc for mass production. I Can't wait for this game. I played Fallout 3 several times. Played it Without mods, with mods, went through all the dlc's and became the worse person you wouldn't want to meet in the Wasteland. If you haven't played Fallout 3 your missing out. I highly recommend it.... I also recommend going through Fallout 3 first before New Vegas because fallout 3 will feel obsolete if you touch New Vegas. It's like someone who starts with Assassin's Creed 2 without even touching the first game. it's gonna be so hard to appreciate a great game when you start at their sequel. I had a hard time appreciating the first Uncharted because i started on Uncharted 2(yes, bad idea. But the game was staring at me!).Fallout: New Vegas is not a direct sequel to Fallout 3, but the similarities in game play will feel like a sequel.

Fallout: New Vegas, Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, Published by Bethesda Softworks, will be Release on Oct 19,2010 on PS3, Xbox360 and PC. Be sure to set aside some money for this Title, I already did. Will New Vegas be as good as previous Fallout Titles? we'll see soon enough.
