More MvC 3 character Reveals: Akuma and Taskmaster

Two more reveals for Marvel vs Capcom 3 has showed up on the net which leaves us to 6 more possible character reveals until game release on Feb 15. For the Capcom side we have Akuma. Akuma has always been a great Character and from the looks of it, he might be heading for the Top Tier. Raging Demon going through supers!? For Marvel we have Taskmaster. A Villain that has the ability to mimic any move without any form of practice. In Marvel, they call his abilities Photographic reflexes able to copy them precisely.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 will be released on February 15, 2011 on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

Bulletstorm is all about being a badass...

Bulletstorm didn't have a big impact for me when i first saw it but as we get closer to the release date of Epic Games fresh new First Person Shooter, i grew curious. The only thing that caught my eye when i first heard about it in E3 2010 is that Cliff bleszinski(Gears of War Franchise, Unreal Franchise)was working on Bulletstorm. I thought, "cool another FPS Title", then forgot about it the whole year. Now where at 2011 and i've been seeing developer diary's of the game and it seems worth checking out.

Bulletstorm is all about how much of a Badass you can be in this game. This isn't your typical First Person Shooter we see nowadays, actually i get the Doom vibe which i miss a lot. It seems to be all about having fun with your enemies.

they want you to get creative on how you kill your enemies, and they reward you for it with their skill shot system they have going. Their weapons look pretty awesome that gives you hilarious ways to kill people. The more unique kills you do in this game, the better the points, and that sounds fun to me.

 It feels like its bringing something fresh for the First Person Shooter genre with all the Call of Duty Medal of Honor games we see all around but i guess its too early to tell how well this game will do. I completely disregarded this game back in 2010 but i'm definitely eager to try it out for myself. I honestly want to try out new IP games cause we have too many sequels nowadays. New is good and its always welcome. Bulletstorm is going for the over the top Badass Game with their Brutality, foul language and etc so we'll see how well it does for them when released.

There's a demo coming up on Xbox Live on Jan 25 and on Playstation Network on Jan 26 and Can't wait for that. If your a First Person Shooter kind of guy, give this game a try and you might like what you see. Oh and by the way, this game has a four barrel shotgun. FOUR! Can't wait to shoot that shit on point blank.

Mayor Mike Haggar and Phoenix joins MvC 3

Two new characters was revealed for Marvel Vs Capcom 3 and this reveal took me by suprise. For the Capcom side, Mayor Mike Haggar from the famous 1989 Final Fight Series joins the roster. Who needs Zangief when you have The Mayor to wrestle against the Hulk.

For the Marvel side, Phoenix, one of the strongest beings in the Marvel universe will be showing how bad ass she can get in an all out brawl.

REVIEW: Gran Turismo 5

The most anticipated PS3 Title has finally arrived after six years in development with countless delays that make the game release feel like a miracle. Staying true to the real driving experience they claim in their title, Gran Turismo 5 provides the most realistic driving experience in video games to date. Impressions: Dead Space 2 demo

PSN was updated with loads of new stuff for christmas and one of them was the Demo of Dead Space 2. I quickly downloaded it to see what the sequel has in store for us when it hits Jan 25 next year.

If you watched the latest gameplay footage of Dead Space 2 and their demo feeds, thats exactly what your getting in this demo. The Demo starts off with a recap of the events of the first Dead Space giving a brief history of the game's story and about the main Protagonist Isaac Clark. Dead Space 2 is set 3 years after the events of the first game and has Isaac Clark waking up in this inhabited moon with necromorphs everywhere. Again he has to survive.

I've seen this demo already in E3 but playing it hands-on gives a better impression than watching someone play it of course. When you get control of Isaac Clark for the first time, everything feels familiar. I grasp the controls of the game quickly and started exploring this narrow area surrounded with containers on the walls. You are given 4 weapons to play around with. the 3 weapons were known since they were in the first game. The famous plasma cutter, the plasma rifle(which btw has a nood tube alternate fire now, better than that crap alt in the first game ) and the line cutter.The fourth one though was some sort of weapon that shoots nails. It's pretty trippy since it can stick Necromorphs to walls and you can dismember them slowly as they struggle to get free.

During the course of the demo you are introduced with new enemies. Aside from the normal necromorphs shown at the start of the demo you get enemies that can slow you down and spit green stuff that hurts. Another new necromorph is this tripod-ish thing that in the middle of the demo grabs hold of your leg and just like the first game you must shoot his obvious shiny "weak spot" before he drags you somewhere. Another new necromorh introduced were these necromorph babies with fingers as claws. Freaky stuff. I hated the baby shooters in the first one, now they have these group of fast freak babies running straight at you.

There was a small easy puzzle involving you to hack a terminal(very easy mini game to hack through) then using your stasis to fix this device. You get introduced to the new feature which has you have free control of Isaac in zero gravity which is a good improvement. The demo was roughly 20 mins long and it ends with a huge necromorph appearing in front of isaac.

I enjoyed the demo and I liked the fact that everything felt familiar. The best part of Dead Space 2 for me was the fact that Isaac Clark can talk. I hated the fact that I was controlling a character that doesn't say anything. That's what lacked in the first game, the ability to see the personality of Isaac evolve as he progress and experience the horror. Giving voice to main characters can go a long way in improving the story, especially a horror game.

Sadly, though I may have enjoyed the demo and liked the new improvements just like the first game, it doesn't feel like a game to get on day one of release. With all the games coming out early next year, I can't grab all the new games and have been deciding which game to skip. This demo has made my decision. I think I'll be experiencing Dead Space 2 a few months after release.

Gran Turismo 5 Patch 1.05 out now

It's only been a month since GT5 was released and already 5 patches have been released. Patch 1.05 was just released yesterday and this is a big one. At a file size of 608MB, the content added improves the GT experience online and in your GT life. Were talking about seasonal events, time trail and drift leaderboards, online dealership, online experience, improved rewards, and a few more. talk about an incomplete game on release.

I started to wonder, were they really holding off with some content just for the sake of making sure certain features are ready to be added in the game? or their holding off content to  impress us that the game is constantly evolving? whatever the reason, more content is always welcome in any gamer's book. Patch notes below.

Gran Turismo 5 patch 1.05:


Seasonal Events
[Seasonal Events] have been added to the upper left side of the [GT Mode] - [GT Life] screen. From here you can participate in official online events from the Polyphony Digital team. In these events, all participants under the same regulations, and if you complete the event you will win rewards and experience. In Time Trials and Drift Trials, compete on the leader boards with players around the world.

Online Dealership
An [Online Dealership] has been added to the left center of the screen. In here you will find popular and rare used cars. You might just come across that one car you've always been looking for, that you haven't been able to find in the used car dealership.

Online Race Rewards and Experience
When you complete a race in the open lobby or my lounge, you will now gain rewards and experience points. Therefore if you are focused more on playing online, you'll still be able to gain rewards and levels that you need to progress in GT Life.

Driving Distance and Number of wins in Online Races
The driving distance and number of wins you achieve when you complete a race in Open lobby or My lounge will now affect your stats in Profile and the Garage. Here again the results from your online play will cumulate within GT Life

Improved Rewards
The rewards for winning races in Both A-Spec and B-Spec in GT mode- GT Life have been increased for a limited time only. This applies until the end of January 2011. This is a great chance for those who were previously have difficulties getting ahead in the game, due to lack of funds for tuning and purchasing required cars.

Race Information Display
Is now available in the Start-Quick Options. You can also see this in Race Display in Options.

Save Data Backup
You can now copy and restore your save data. For details please refer to the in-game Manual

Personal BGM (menu)
From [options]-[hardware]-[Audio], it is now possible to set the Personal BGM (menu). This can also be accessed from the Music Library within GT Mode.

Car Name Change
The official name of the "Red Bull X1" has been changed to "Red Bull X2010"

Integration within the website
THe main features within GT Mode - Community can now be accessed through the "Gran-Turismo.com Official Website.

in order to make its operation more stable. Please note that the information that was here before the update has been reset.

Demon's Soul's server life extended... again

One of the best RPG's you can get out of the PS3 will have their server's extended once again, publisher Atlus just announced. It was originally extended till the end of March of 2011 but because of it's growing popularity they decided to extend it even further till the end of Oct of 2011. This is great new's indeed for the community of Demon Soul's who seem to just grow rather than slow down. This is considered as a must buy for any PS3 owners out there. If you want something fresh, painfully challenging and just love RPGs, pick it up. It will suck you in and you won't regret it.

"We've said it before and we'll say it again," said Atlus exec Aram jabbari, "we will support the online servers for Demon's Souls as long as we possibly can, and we'll be as transparent about the entire process as possible, hence us constantly updating folks as to what to expect.

"That said, we're starting to think.... the servers may have taken on a bit of a.... life of their own. Have you played the game? it's not just one of the most brilliant roleplaying games ever made; it's darn challenging, too. It's starting to feel like even if we wanted to, we couldn't shut things down."


"Honestly, we're more worried the servers will shut down than the other way around."

They have a point. Atlus created quite a unique Franchise that's just an amazing game overall. I don't think another extension is even enough for this ever growing community.

New gameplay trailer of Cysis 2 just surfaced and i completely forgot that it's months away until it gets released. The game looks great and the new game engine Cryengine 3 brings out so many possibilities in gameplay. I also included above a video showing of what the new engine will bring. Crysis 2 will be set in New York City and will take place 3 years after the events of the first game.

Crysis 2 will be released on March 25, 2011 on the PS3 Xbox and PC.

Mass Effect 2 PS3 version preview

It took them close to a year to release a PS3 version of Mass Effect 2. But let's not dread on the past. It's here and PS3 owners can get a taste for what i think is the best RPG of 2010. The PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 will include all Downloadable Content like the character Zaeed Massani, Kasumi - stolen memory, lair of the shadow broker and other content from the Cerebrus network.

If your not familiar with Mass Effect at all, Bioware is providing a interactive comic that will keep you up to date that leads to the events of Mass Effect 2. You are given choices to decide the outcome of the comic so your decisions of who gets to live or die can be passed down when you play Mass Effect 2.

Mass Effect 3 was announced in the Video Game Awards 2010 and was confirmed a few days later that there will be a PS3 version. It will be released together with the other platforms. Since Mass Effect 3 is now on the PS3, i highly recommend PS3 owners to give Mass Effect 2 a try when it comes out on January of 2011. Mass Effect 3 will be released holiday of next year.

Gran Turismo 5 gettiing more premium cars

More planned updates left and right for Gran Turismo 5. A few weeks ago the game was patched with online mechanical damage to avoid childish drivers ramming other players. Now, GT 5 designer Kazunori Yamauchi tells Japanese magazine Famitsu that future updates will include increasing the number of premium cars in the game. The designer did not specify any date on when these updates are coming but heck as long as their on their way, we are happy.

Premium cars provide a detailed cockpit view, and also feature a more detailed car compared to the standard cars. With this many planned updates, yes its great for us players but you wonder that six years of development is still not enough to finish Gran Turismo 5. Yes it feels unfinished in my end. My review of the game is coming up soon so watch out for that.

More updates, Sony Entertainment today revealed that its giving away free DLC cars....but for japanese gamers. These Chrome line cars are a Lamborghini Murcielago LP 640, a BMW M3 coupe and a Jaguar XJ13 race car. The Chrome Line cars were originally DLC in special editions of GT5. Now since its only in Japanese gamer who are lucky to get free awesome cars, ill see if i can get this free dlc by creating a Japanese account. I'm hoping the DLC is made for every version of the game since it was in the special editions.

These cars will be available free of charge for download between December 24 and January 31, 2011 via the PlayStation Store.

Uncharted 3 debut gameplay with Jimmy Fallon

First gameplay footage of Uncharted 3 was aired on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.  The Late Night Host gets first hands-on time with the game and it got weird when he started playing the demo. Regardless of Fallon's lack of how the PS3 controller works we still get an early glimpse of Uncharted 3 gameplay. 

The demo starts off with Drake and Sully trapped in a burning Chateau and tries to escape. They show off new melee moves and how amazing their fire effects are as they try to escape the building. Everything looks amazing. Close to the end you get a taste of those exciting moments Uncharted is famous for. It was short but sweet. Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception is aiming for a Nov. 1, 2011 release date. Enjoy!

Batman: Arkham City debut trailer

Trailer for Batman Arkham City was aired at the Video Game Awards 2010. Trailer reveals Batman's nemesis Dr. Hugo Strange, who knows batman's identity. Batman: Arkham City is the sequel to, well for me, the best batman game developed, Batman: Arkham Asylum.  Sadly no gameplay footage but it will be released fall of 2011.

Resistance 3 trailer plus a release date

VGA revealed a trailer of Resistance 3 showing in-game graphics, gameplay mixed in with live action sequences. The PS3 Exclusive will be released on Sept. 6, 2011. Don't really like the live action sequence to tease Resistance 3. Regardless it looks great and can't wait to see more gameplay.

It's great waking up to so many announcements. Video Game Awards 2010 revealed the trailer for Uncharted 3 and again takes us in the shoes of Nathan Drake through a Desert Wasteland. Take note, the teaser trailer isn't in CG. Just like in Uncharted 2, Everything is being rendered in Real time meaning thats going to be gameplay graphics. Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception will be released November 1, 2011.

Video game Awards 2010 is  making a lot of gamers happy today showing tons of  World premiere trailers. Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was announced and is going to be a direct sequel to Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Not much info yet but it's awesome to get its's official reveal. Mass Effect 3 now this? more to come from Video game Awards 2010.

Bioware revealed a teaser trailer for mass Effect 3 and it looks amazing! The reapers have finally showed up and are now targeting earth to wipe out the human race. Mass Effect 3 will be out by holiday 2011 next  year, according to the teaser trailer. Enjoy.

Storm and C. Viper join Marvel vs Capcom 3

2 new Character reveals today for Marvel vs Capcom 3. For the marvel side, we have the famous Storm joining the roster. Storm was considered a Top tier Character in Mvc2 and was the most used for Top pro players.

For the Capcom side we have Crimson Viper, a new character introduced in Street Fighter 4. C. Viper from the looks of it has everything from SF4.....even the focus. An attack feature made famous in Street Fighter 4 which makes you absorb one attack during charge and stuns when released.

With these 2 reveals, Marvel vs Capcom 3's has now a total of 30 characters confirmed, leaving 10 more characters to be revealed. They announced that they have already finalized the roster and its only a matter of time until each character has been revealed. The Character roster may be finalized but DLC characters will be  added based on fan support, so supporting your favorite character might make him a dlc character in the future.

Uncharted 3 is officially real

I was just about to sleep and i found news that Uncharted 3 has surfaced. Entertainment Weekly revealed the next chapter in the Uncharted franchise named Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. The reveal mentioned that the story will focus on Drake's relationship with mentor and father figure Victor Sullivan, and has him searching for a legendary lost city that will take him to the Arabian penunsula and into the Rub'al khali Desert. Everything we love from the Uncharted series will be back and Naughty dog mentioned the multiplayer aspect in the game will be improved and will be just as addicting as other multiplayer games out today.

Aside from the reveal, Spike Video Game Awards will also reveal Uncharted 3 mentioned in Entertainment Weekly. In the event they will reveal the first trailer of the game and a released date announcement is rumored to be in the trailer. Spike Video Game Awards is scheduled to air on Dec 11.

And more reveals! the first live demo will be revealed in Late night with Jimmy Fallon next week Dec 13 2010. Jimmy Fallon brought in the makers of gears to reveal gears 3 with a trailer, this time they will be getting Naughty Dog to show their first live demo of the game. Jimmy Fallon is starting a new trend revealing game announcements and i hope he sticks with it.

I won't say much about it set since its all teasers and pictures but i like the idea that they are bringing Uncharted to a desert wasteland. Change the setting, new likable add new features for us to enjoy, that's all cool and great but i hope they keep everything we enjoy in the Uncharted Franchise intact.

Killzone 3 looking GOOD!

Someone was able to get their hands off the latest preview code of the game and shows a battle with a huge metal gear-like mech. From what i see from this video, it's looking great. Also included in this post are gameplay footage from the multiplayer beta. The multiplayer looks just as great as the campaign and the feature of having melee executions looks more satisfying in multiplayer than the usual smack your enemy with your gun or knife to kill at close range. Killzone 3 will be out on February 22 2011 on the PS3.
