More MvC 3 character Reveals: Akuma and Taskmaster

Akuma & Taskmaster reveal trailer

Two more reveals for Marvel vs Capcom 3 has showed up on the net which leaves us to 6 more possible character reveals until game release on Feb 15. For the Capcom side we have Akuma. Akuma has always been a great Character and from the looks of it, he might be heading for the Top Tier. Raging Demon going through supers!? For Marvel we have Taskmaster. A Villain that has the ability to mimic any move without any form of practice. In Marvel, they call his abilities Photographic reflexes able to copy them precisely.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 will be released on February 15, 2011 on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

Bulletstorm is all about being a badass...

Bulletstorm didn't have a big impact for me when i first saw it but as we get closer to the release date of Epic Games fresh new First Person Shooter, i grew curious. The only thing that caught my eye when i first heard about it in E3 2010 is that Cliff bleszinski(Gears of War Franchise, Unreal Franchise)was working on Bulletstorm. I thought, "cool another FPS Title", then forgot about it the whole year. Now where at 2011 and i've been seeing developer diary's of the game and it seems worth checking out.

Bulletstorm is all about how much of a Badass you can be in this game. This isn't your typical First Person Shooter we see nowadays, actually i get the Doom vibe which i miss a lot. It seems to be all about having fun with your enemies.

they want you to get creative on how you kill your enemies, and they reward you for it with their skill shot system they have going. Their weapons look pretty awesome that gives you hilarious ways to kill people. The more unique kills you do in this game, the better the points, and that sounds fun to me.

It feels like its bringing something fresh for the First Person Shooter genre with all the Call of Duty Medal of Honor games we see all around but i guess its too early to tell how well this game will do. I completely disregarded this game back in 2010 but i'm definitely eager to try it out for myself. I honestly want to try out new IP games cause we have too many sequels nowadays. New is good and its always welcome. Bulletstorm is going for the over the top Badass Game with their Brutality, foul language and etc so we'll see how well it does for them when released.

There's a demo coming up on Xbox Live on Jan 25 and on Playstation Network on Jan 26 and Can't wait for that. If your a First Person Shooter kind of guy, give this game a try and you might like what you see. Oh and by the way, this game has a four barrel shotgun. FOUR! Can't wait to shoot that shit on point blank.

Bulletstorm will be released on February 22, 2011 on the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Mayor Mike Haggar and Phoenix joins MvC 3

Two new characters was revealed for Marvel Vs Capcom 3 and this reveal took me by suprise. For the Capcom side, Mayor Mike Haggar from the famous 1989 Final Fight Series joins the roster. Who needs Zangief when you have The Mayor to wrestle against the Hulk.

For the Marvel side, Phoenix, one of the strongest beings in the Marvel universe will be showing how bad ass she can get in an all out brawl.

Two down, possibly eight more characters to reveal before the release of the game on Feb 15. Below are the trailers for Haggar and Phoenix.

Quash's Top 5 of 2010

2010 is one of the best years of gaming. Lot's of amazing titles, best game reveals and new hardware that might shape the gaming world for the better. In my top 5 are game's I've personally played and finished in 2010.

5. Heavy Rain

Heavy Rain is like that new kid in school. No one knows him and they have no idea if he’s going to fit in with the rest of the bunch or if anybody will take notice. Quantic Dreams aimed big and wanted to bring gamers into something new and unique. The Result is Heavy rain.

This game is 8 to 10 hours long and I just couldn’t stop playing. The simple gameplay  may sound dull but when you actual play the game and get into those intense  quick time events of pressing a series of buttons and motions you get a sense of satisfaction when you succeed. This kind of formula wouldn’t have worked if the story wasn’t engaging enough to keep you playing but heavy rain’s story made it work.

If you are PS3 owners, it’s one of these exclusives you just try out. Be it renting it or borrowing it from a friend. It’s worth your time to experience and it’s for any gamer really, You just need to have an open mind when getting into it. It was an experiment seeing if gamers would get hooked in what they call Heavy Rain an Interactive drama and it was a huge success. I don’t think we’ll be seeing another game like this in a few years but at least now developers know it can work.

4. Starcraft 2

What I enjoyed about Starcraft 2 the most is the fact that it’s just too damn familiar with the first. A nine year gap between the first and the sequel, Blizzard was able to implement improvements to the game without ruining the concept of why we love StarCraft. Of course multiplayer is back and it’s freaking addicting.

The new battlenet system they have implemented makes things easier and smooth for competitive play. Each race felt balanced that as you progress in the ladder you experience different strategies and styles of play keeping it rich and constantly evolving. I really enjoyed the fact that when you head to the custom maps, you actually see those tower defense games and whatnot present in starcraft 2. Custom map games have always been my favorite in Blizzard games. Just like the first game, StarCraft 2 will be around for years to come.

3. Super Street Fighter 4

Well everything you like about Street Fighter 4 is still there with improvements and new Characters to master. Super Street Fighter 4 is pretty much the 2.0 of the Street Fighter 4 version released in 2009. I was really excited about this game release because I was addicted to Street Fighter 4 and was playing it constantly with my buddies.

The core gameplay mechanics from afar has the same Street Fighter feel. At the same time you have the option to go deeper in the gameplay by learning these crazy combos done with the new Focus attack feature that helps link combos and strings for maximum damage. It took me awhile to learn the Street Fighter way because coming from Tekken, Street Fighter gameplay mechanics are so much faster. FADC to ultra ftw!

2. Red Dead Redemption

What I think is Rock star’s Best work, Red Dead redemption is the first western game that made it work. Pretty much everything you know about cowboys and the Wild West is in this game. This sandbox game feels alive with events seen on the road like a damsel in distress or a bunch or thieves trying to steal your horse.

When I play sandbox Titles, as I progress I usually end up messing around killing people and stealing stuff and feel the freedom then just forget the storyline and objectives altogether. With Red Dead, it felt different doing some silly stuff but still itching to know what happens next in the story. It’s a great game and you should definitely check it out if you haven’t.  Oh did I mention there’s a Downloadable Content for zombies!?

1.  Mass Effect 2

I still remember back in the day when I stole my friends Xbox 360 just to play Mass Effect and loving every minute of it. Mass Effect 2 came out, I got the PC version and just 5 hours in I already knew what my best game would be. Mass effect 2 just sucks you in, and the RPG style elements are perfectly blended with the sci-fi gun battles in the game.

Characters are amazing, and those important choices leave you in a position to just pause and really think about it. I still remember the epic ending when you finish the game leaving goosebumps. Get blown away by Mass Effect 2 and prepare for Mass Effect 3 coming next holiday.

Well that's my Top 5 games of 2010. 2011 has begun and i have a feeling this year will be just as big as last year. Comment and tell us your Top 5 of 2010.

Migoy's Top 5 Games of 2010

2010 was a great year for video games. We saw a lot of great new titles, long awaited sequels and even returns from older games. To be fair, I chose my top 5 from the games that I played and that were released in 2010. No bias here, just an honest gamer's decision.

5. NBA Jam (Wii)

"Swish swish!"

It's nice to see a good arcade game get some love in modern times. NBA Jam brings back the fire dunking and Boom-Shakalaking madness. It's a hoot especially when playing with other people. I had no problems with the Wiimote+Nunchuk control scheme. Shake and bake!

4. Monster Hunter Tri (Wii)

"Roooaaar!"

Monster Hunter is still Monster Hunter but the Wii version adds in underwater exporation which is quite a sight and adds to the challenge. This Monster Hunter has Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection support meaning real online gameplay and not limited to Ad-Hoc parties. Monster Hunter Tri has very good serves and offers smooth online interaction for most of it.

3. Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars (Wii)

"Owara seru!"

I got the MvC itch back in 2009 and played the Japanese release of TvC but with the announcement of Ultimate All-Stars and the new additions (especially Zero), I was sold. It's a great fighter and a worthy edition to Capcom's VS. series of fighting games. Tatsunical!

2. Professor Layton and the Unwound Future (DS)

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

"I challenge you to a battle of wits!"

Being a fan of the Professor Layton series, this game was a no brainer get for me. With it's great presentation and interesting storyline to keep you going. Puzzle games are perfect for portable gaming and the Unwound Future does not disappoint. Few things satisfy like a puzzle solved.

1. Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep (PSP)

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

"Keyblades are not something you use just to bully somebody around!"

The Kingdom Hearts storyline has always intrigued me (no matter how bogus it's gets) and with this being a prequel, it ties up a lot of loose ends. The new combat mechanics are very well implemented and it requires more skill and strategy without being overwhelmingly complicated. And with 3 characters to choose from, this is the most diverse Kingdom Hearts game yet.

And there you have it, my top 5 games of 2010. I may not have a lot of game systems but 2010 has been a very rich year for video games on all platforms. There's something out there for everyone. What's your top 5 games of 2010?

REVIEW: Gran Turismo 5

The most anticipated PS3 Title has finally arrived after six years in development with countless delays that make the game release feel like a miracle. Staying true to the real driving experience they claim in their title, Gran Turismo 5 provides the most realistic driving experience in video games to date. But with that much time in development, the longer it takes to make doesn’t mean a perfect racing game. Gran Turismo 5 is actually here but was it worth the wait? [FULL REVIEW]

Those pissed off birds from your iPod is migrating to the Playstation Network tomorrow, followed by a European release the following day.

Angry Birds was originally released December of 09' for the iPhone and it managed to bring out a whopping 50 million downloads globally. It has loads of challenges and great replay value. I have it on my iPod and it can be quite the time killer. No idea yet on how much it will come out but be sure to check it out in the PSN store.
